After 10 years of purposefully not buying anything from American Apparel (a personal boycott that started around 2006) a few days ago, I caved.
It’s funny how six weeks can simultaneously feel like a blink of an eye but also like six, long, slow, weeks. I thought I’d share a little update of what’s been going on in part of the world over the past month and a half.
As many of you know, I have a full-time job outside of my home. Meaning, I’m not a professional blogger or “creative” who works from home. From Monday – Friday, 8am to 6:30pm I’m generally working (that includes my commute time). Once I get home, I usually want to do nothing more than take Howard for a walk, have dinner, and unwind before heading to bed so I can repeat it all the next day.
However, come the weekend is where I try and do things for me. And while Saturdays are usually reserved for running errands, and hanging with family and friends, Sundays are all for me.
These are a few things I like to do on days like today.
Nail polish is one of those things that are so easy to buy and as a result can accumulate quickly. They’re relatively inexpensive and it’s just so easy to see a colour on the shelf and think “need it,” pick it up, and head to the register.
Once I decided to essentially declutter my life, nothing was off limits – which brings me to my nail polish collection*. I went from about 20 bottles to the 9 you see pictured above.
